Drama of Works presents an instructional evening of theater for children (*NOT really for children). In between beautiful, innovative, large-scale shadow puppet renditions of literature by Edgar Allan Poe, they use a toy theater cemetery and inventive tabletop puppets to warn children of the dangers of misbehaving. The tales of The Raven, Tell-Tale Heart, Annabel Lee and The Black Cat come to life spectacularly with DOW’s signature inventive shadow puppetry! All the while, toy theater skeletons and cadavers inspired by Heinrich Hoffman, Edward Gorey, Maurice Sendak and the Dead Milkmen get sliced, blown away, drowned, set on fire… Is everyone ready for a bloody good time?!?
Off-Off Broadway
Audience Advisory: This production contains animal cruelty, children being set on fire and other scary stuff—it is only appropriate for older kids and with adult supervision!
