Matthew Gasda's razor-sharp new play Soonest Mended dissects the ultimate millennial relationship experiment with unflinching precision. When married writers Alexa and Jonah decide to open their relationship, they unleash forces neither anticipated—including brutal honesty about what they really want.

As their respective affairs with the composed masseur Kieran and straightforward nurse Cora intensify, the intellectual veneer cracks. What begins as liberation spirals into a devastating portrait of two people who might love each other but can no longer stand to share the same apartment.

Savage, sexy and painfully relevant, Soonest Mended asks whether we can ever truly optimize our relationships—or if the fantasy of having everything is itself the problem.
