Private First Class Sam Sandes is thrilled to finally be on the frontlines of the Great War. It’s been three long years of waiting for President Wilson to send Americans to the front line. However, the green soldier has a secret to keep from the bumbling Sergeant Haddock…

She’s a woman.

Alongside Sam are two more women in military drag. Private Bella Bianconi, long overdue for marriage, hopes to find herself a man in No Man’s Land. Private Felicity Furse, a habitually lucky jill-of-all-trades, wants to reconnect with her twin brother Felix. When the Sergeant’s second-in-command, Corporal Duchamp, threatens to reveal their plot, the trio strike a deal: Keep their secret, and they’ll help the Frenchman escape the war before tomorrow’s big battle. Expose them to the British oaf, they’ll make sure he’s first in line over the top. Now, the women have just a few hours to find love, family and themselves before all hell breaks loose.
