A new 2-hour adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy, adapted by David Fuller and directed by Judith Jarosz. King Lear is a cathartic tale of a patriarch who wants to retire, leaving his holdings in the hands of his children, but familial machinations and his own tenuous hold on reality set events spiraling to a tragic conclusion. The plot deals with how humanity handles its elderly, and the pains of ceding control of Life as its end approaches. We travel through a storm of loss and despair to love, as Evil gets their just desserts and Hope triumphs. Presented by Theater 2020.
