At a hot pot party, a man narrates his innermost secret to the room: he wishes something significant would happen to give his life meaning. A woman on the subway, having slipped into a dream that stretches into decades, finds that her boyfriend has aged hundreds of years after attending a party at the realm of the Sea King. Meanwhile, everyone shares in the suspicion that the quest for life’s meaning might be the mechanism that entraps them.
