Award-winning playwright Jeremy J. Kamps and Certified Nurse Midwife and birth justice advocate Trixie Ndanu Kioko have developed SKIN TO SKIN over three years of creative storytelling workshops with Black mothers and midwives. The play follows three women’s journeys through pregnancy, labor, and delivery, confronting systemic healthcare inequities through sharp humor and deeply personal narratives of survival, bodily autonomy, and maternal joy. Directed by Rosalyn Coleman Williams and featuring integrated film and digital media produced by Redwall Productions, SKIN TO SKIN proves that statistics become impossible to ignore when they become stories.
