HERE’s Dream Music Puppetry program presents PUPPETOPIA 2027! Our annual celebration of the imagination and possibility of community creation. Take a peak inside Dream Music’s puppetry state of mind! Puppetopia is presented with the support of The Jim Henson Foundation.
Below are the three shows included in Puppetopia 2027:
Water Walker
Created by Ash Winkfield
April 8th – 16th
Water Walker is a puppetry experience that honors the nation’s first “freedom march” – The Igbo Landing of 1803. Through a fusion of shadow, tabletop, and rod puppetry, we follow one man’s journey from West Africa to the shores of Georgia—a profound exploration of resilience, agency, and the fight for freedom.
Medicine Men
Created by Tau Bennett
April 7th – 11th
Welcome to “Medicine Men and Friends,” Live on W.H.A.T. 106.9! Join your favorite three-piece band o’ freaks for the greatest, most chaotic radio broadcast of all time. Created by Tau Bennett (Sesame Street, Cold Sober), Medicine Men and Friends features a cast of “gorgeously grotesque” creature creations, ready to invade your space and fill it with a sound unlike anything you’ve ever heard.
The Epic of Gilgamesh
By Kalan Sherard and Ron Shalom
April 14th – 18th
The Epic of Gilgamesh is a megalithic puppet opera retelling the world’s “first story” of hidden queer love, civilizational lust for immortality, the origin of patriarchy, and ecological catastrophe, through world-touring immersive performances. is a megalithic puppet opera retelling the world’s “first story” of hidden queer love, civilizational lust for immortality, the origin of patriarchy, and ecological catastrophe, through world-touring immersive performances.
