For our festival’s inaugural year, we have an exciting array of happenings taking place in addition to our scheduled performances.

We are excited to announce that the Puppetry Guild of Greater New York and Great Small Works will be hosting Puppet Cabaret nights at 11pm on August 10-11. The Puppetry Guild of Greater New York’s Joshua Holden will act as co-producer of the event. We will be screening various puppet themed films throughout the week of the festival for free for any attendees that wish to indulge in another facet of our festival programming.

Also taking place on August 10-11 will be “Artist Talks”, where we will open the floor to artists from participating troupes to answer questions from audiences about their methods and productions. In addition to this, UNIMA will be hosting an “Artist Symposium” on Saturday, August 11 where Directors of participating troupes will engage in dynamic dialogues about the future of international puppetry.
