Buglisi Dance Theatre kicks off its 25th anniversary season with performances featuring a preview of “Moss Variations #5: Dialogues on What Makes Us Human” choreographed by Artistic Director Jacqulyn Buglisi with commissioned music by Emmy award-winning composer Jeff Beal and projection design by Obie Award recipient Wendall K. Harrington.

The title suggests a powerful and poetic metaphor of humanity that juxtaposes slow-growing moss that has been on earth since ancient times, with the fragility of human existence.

The Company will also dance Buglisi’s "visually ravishing" masterwork Requiem; Ari Mayzick in the majestic “Prelude”; and excerpts from Bare to the Wall with featured solo and duets: Blakeley White-McGuire in Speak Memory, Virginie Mécéne and Kevin Predmore in The Kiss, and guest artists from the Martha Graham Dance Company.
