I will have Gaveston, and you shall know
What danger ’tis to stand against your king.
Hot on the heels of his coronation, Edward II recalls his lover Gaveston from exile, lavishing him with titles and riches. Their all-consuming lust makes enemies of the furious barons and bishops, alienates the King’s once-devoted Queen and tears England to pieces. Then again, what if you were King at twenty four?
9 men and 1 woman rip through a sexy, athletic cut of Christopher Marlowe's erotic power play EDWARD II, adapted and directed by Hunter Bird.
Inspired by Brecht's cut of EDWARD II when he was 24, this company worked to create an immediate, relevant production honoring the spirit of the play.
PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:
APRIL 3, 4 & 9 @ 7 PM
APRIL 10 & 11 @ 9:30 PM
