Bronx Opera finishes its 50th Season (and continues telling the story of Sir John Falstaff) with our first ever production of Giuseppe Verdi's FALSTAFF, sung in English translation.
Premiered in 1893 (when the composer was 80), FALSTAFF teems with a level of verve and life that composers of all ages strive to put on stage. This opera shows us the price of vanity, the value of humor, and reminds us (in its famous final fugue) that life is ultimately a comedy. This is a large, wonderful, and truly unique work that is not to be missed.
