Our 33rd season!

More than any other venue in the American theater, the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival Theater Tent is the perfect home for the sorts of comical-tragical hybrids you’ll see here this summer: an uproarious summertime romp, a fantastical work from the twilight of Shakespeare’s career, Sondheim’s homage to fractured fairy-tales, a reimagining of a French classic by a longtime HVSF fan favorite, and an electrifying play of political upheaval — specially shaped for student audiences.

Boscobel, a Hudson River estate in Garrison, is the Festival's performance site. It offers a magnificent setting, ample parking, grounds personnel and an established reputation as a tourist attraction. In its new home and under a big tent, the Festival has grown dramatically, from its first audience of 230 to over 32,000

  • "...outdoor Shakespeare is a must in the warm weather, and where better to take it in than this spot by the edge of the Hudson River? The natural backdrop is breathtaking and the work consistently strong."
