This enchanted evening opens with Mendelssohn’s evocative Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as conductor Matthew Halls casts a spell under his mesmerizing wand. The dream continues with the “impeccable fiddling” (Gramophone) of Joshua Bell on Mozart’s spellbinding Violin Concerto in D major and closes with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8.
