RIOULT was founded in 1994 and fast became an established name in modern dance with a reputation for creating and presenting the sensual, articulate, and exquisitely musical works of Pascal Rioult. Born into the American modern dance tradition, RIOULT is creating its own legacy of contemporary dance that speaks to the mind and heart.
Pascal Rioult's 2019 Season features the World Premiere of Transgressions...Four Short Stories, inspired by the stories of Joyce Carol Oates. Also on the program, conjuring images from T.S. Eliot’s “The Waste Land”, is the iconic The Violet Hour with an original composition by Grammy award winning composer Joan Tower. The evening closes with last year’s triumphant Nostalghia, set to a commissioned score by Russian composer Polina Nazaykinskaya.
"...a visionary work set in an incandescent dreamscape. I'll want to see (and hear) THE VIOLET HOUR again.” —Oberon’s Grove
