Public Transport

  • By Subway:
    4, 5, or 6 train to 86th Street. Walk west on 86th Street, turn right at 5th Avenue and proceed north to 88th Street.
  • By Bus:
    M1, M2, M3, and M4 buses equipped with wheelchair lifts stop between 86th and 87th streets on Madison Avenue going uptown and on Fifth Avenue going downtown.

    The Admissions desk, Membership desk, and Guggenheim Store are equipped with T-coil compatible induction loops. The museum’s multimedia guide devices are also T-coil compatible and include transcripts of all tour stops. Please ask the staff at the Multimedia Guide desk for assistance

    Elevators are available from the ground floor.

    Wheelchair-accessible restrooms are available on the rotunda floor and on Tower Level 7.

    Accessible seating is available for all events at the Guggenheim. Please call the box office to reserve accessible seats Reserved seating is available only for Works & Process events in the Peter B. Lewis Theater

    Verbal Descriptions use precise, evocative language to convey the visual experience of works of art. Developed for those who are blind or have low vision, these guides are valuable for all visitors who seek an in-depth exploration of specific artworks
  • Wheelchair Info

    The museum is wheelchair accessible except for the High Gallery, which is at the top of the first ramp and has two low stairs at the entrance. Partial view of the High Gallery is possible from rotunda levels 1 and 2. Printed transcripts of wall texts are available at the Admissions and Information desks. Motorized wheelchairs are allowed in the museum.
