TDF Accessibility Program for Students
TDF Accessibility Program for Students (previously Access for Young Audiences) offers accessible Broadway performances to adolescents at Tri-State area schools. Most of these young people are first-time theatregoers.
For students who are hard of hearing or d/Deaf, TDF provides simultaneous sign language interpreting and open captioning. For students with low vision or who are blind, TDF provides live audio description and sometimes hosts pre-performance Touch Tours so they can explore elements of the set with a professional guide. These services are scheduled on select Wednesday matinees during the school year.
TDF has study guides and digital education resources available for free to enhance the show experience.
If your school is interested in participating, please email programs@tdf.org.
Past shows include Aladdin, Anastasia, Annie, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Kinky Boots, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, Memphis, The Miracle Worker, Newsies, On Your Feet!, The Phantom of the Opera, The Play That Goes Wrong, School of Rock, Shrek: The Musical, Sister Act, Something Rotten, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, SpongeBob SquarePants, West Side Story and Wicked.
