Breaking the Moon tells the journey of a motley crew of seven teenagers who are battling through the trenches of life.

Instead of running away, they fight to find their voices and release their secrets, facing their personal truth and each other.  From sexuality, rape, divorce, drugs, self-esteem and more, each fights a different battle, yet they are all connected.  Their stories are different, yet together they find healing in revealing their pain and connecting with each other.  At the intersection of “The Breakfast Club” and A Chorus Line, Breaking the Moon is an empowering and inspirational pop/rock musical that shines the light on the struggles that lead teens to these dark places. But we are reminded that it is always darkest before the dawn.

The fresh score and intense book are both written by nationally touring singer/songwriter Amy Steinberg. A talkback will follow the performance.
