Two-time Tony Award-winner Christian Borle stars as Cockney everyman Bill Snibson, who wreaks havoc on high society after being unexpectedly elevated to the lofty position of Earl of Hareford. The other well-to-dos in town look down on Snibson’s Cockney girlfriend, Sally Smith, played by Laura Michelle Kelly.
Part music hall frolic, part class-warfare comedy, Me and My Girl was the toast of the 1937 London season before becoming a Broadway darling in the 1980s. Tony Award-winner Warren Carlyle directs and choreographs, bringing “The Lambeth Walk”—the famous first act finale that launched a worldwide dance craze—back to New York for the first time in nearly 30 years to close this celebratory season of Encores! at 25.
