Lonnie Holley's Universe of Friends

The American Folk Art Museum (AFAM) is thrilled to celebrate multi-faceted Lonnie Holley at a special fundraising concert: Lonnie Holley's Universe of Friends. Holley is a powerful visual artist represented in AFAM’s collection, as well as an internationally renowned musician. The concert will be hosted by Harvey Fierstein, award winning actor, playwright, screenwriter and folk art enthusiast.

AFAM is thrilled to celebrate Holley’s newest album, Oh Me, Oh My, which features Bon Iver, R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe and Sharon Van Etten, among others. The evening will celebrate Holley’s visual and musical talents and explore his collaborative spirit with other musicians, which has led to more than six full-length albums. He will be performing his original, experimental, genre-defying compositions with Mourning [A] BLKstar, a musical collective dedicated to Black Culture, storytelling and song.
