Musica Viva NY presents Shabnam Abedi with seven Musica Viva NY soloists. This program, featuring the harmonium and piano, contains a crossover of three worlds of sound. In addition to the choral ensemble of eight voices presenting jazz and Hindustani classical music, there is Hindustani raga presented by Ms. Abedi, as soloist, and the choral ensemble.

A former member of the Musica Viva NY choir, and a highly sought-after soprano, Shabnam Abedi received her Master’s Degree from Juilliard in Jazz Studies, making her Juilliard’s first South-Asian American jazz voice graduate. Having played and sung Indian Classical Music since she was young, Shabnam’s first album Amar Bijon Ghore was released to wide acclaim in South Asia. Her debut jazz album Love Shadows is set to release this year.
