Education & Engagement

New York City Students, Communities & Organizations
TDF’s education and engagement programs introduce the performing arts to potential audiences in a meaningful way. We bring teachers and schools, individuals and students, communities and organizations to live theatre. Our award-winning programming facilitates personal connections to a work of art, to each other, and encourages citizens who engage in community.

TDF's programming aligns with current best pedagogical practices, and adheres to Common Core Curriculum and the New York City Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts. See how TDF education programs align with the NYC Department of Education Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts: Theatre K-12. “Children need to go to the theatre as much as they need to run about in the fresh air. They need to hear real music played by real musicians on real instruments as they need food and drink. If you deprive children of shelter and food and exercise, they die visibly. If you deprive them of art and music and story and theatre, they perish on the inside, and their starvation doesn’t show.”           -  Phillip Pullman
