Support TDF Access Programs

Theatre for ALL!

TDF is expanding access to live theatre and making performing arts accessible to all audiences by removing cultural, physical and financial barriers. Every year TDF provides nearly 18,000 discounted tickets to individuals with physical and developmental disabilities through our accessibility programs. These individuals are families, students, repeat offenders and first time theatregoers. They are like all of us who love theatre and deserve the opportunity to experience live performance in an accepting environment, something many us take for granted.

The arts aren’t a bonus; they are a necessity. The experience of live theatre is like nothing else, and should be open to everyone. That’s why we’re here.

TDF Autism Friendly Performances offer sensory-friendly performances for those with autism or other developmental/cognitive disabilities, their families and friends, serving more than 7,000 individuals every year.

TDF Accessibility Programs for Studentsprovide access to live theatre for students who are blind or have low vision, deaf or hard of hearing, serving 1,000 kids annually.

TDF Accessibility Membership offers reduced-price tickets to special performances and support for people who are blind or have low vision, deaf or hard of hearing or have mobility issues, serving 18,000 members every year.

“There’s a huge barrier for the deaf and hard of hearing community to access theatre in New York. They need a bridge. Whether that bridge is captions or sign language interpreters, they deserve the same access that everyone else has. TDF makes this possible.”

- Dylan Geil, ASL Interpreter

“At an Autism Friendly Performance of Kinky Boots, I looked around the theatre to see everyone engaged, joyful, and repeating the message of love and acceptance. If only the world could hear this message and accept and love my son wherever we go, no matter how he behaves or what modifications we may need. Thank you for helping me ‘make memories’ with my son that will last a lifetime.”
