Join Richard H. Blake and Adam Kaplan in a live online chat
For our second Facebook Live artist chat, we're getting the behind-the-scenes scoop on the hit Broadway musical A Bronx Tale from two of its stars: Richard H. Blake and Adam Kaplan. The actors are longtime friends, so it's kismet that Blake is playing Kaplan's concerned father in this coming-of-age tuner, based on Chazz Palminteri's semi-autobiographical tale about growing up in the old neighborhood in the tumultuous '60s. During this half-hour live conversation, you -- the fans -- ask the questions. Want to hear fun backstage stories? Wondering what it's like working with legends such as Alan Menken, Jerry Zaks, and Robert De Niro? Curious to know how they got started in the biz -- Blake's been performing on Broadway since the age of 12! Join us live on Friday, January 12 at 1:30pm on TDF's Facebook page for a 20-minute dialogue with these performers as they answer your queries in real time.
Don't do Facebook? Don't worry: You can post your questions in advance in the comments below and then watch a recording of the talk, which we'll publish on TDF Stages the next week. Even if you haven't seen A Bronx Tale there's still plenty to chat about. Personally, I'm dying to ask about Blake's experience starring in the notorious 1989 Broadway flop Prince of Central Park, but he's also appeared in plenty of blockbusters, including Rent, Hairspray, Wicked, Matilda, and Jersey Boys. And though A Bronx Tale is only Kaplan's second Broadway credit after Newsies, he's headlined lots of national tours. Bet you've seen at least one of these guys onstage -- possibly courtesy of TDF. So go ahead and help us start this conversation!
