Even though in-person theatre and dance are back in full swing, in the name of accessibility we're continuing to round up performances to watch online from the comfort of home. Our curated list spotlights the five best options to stream this weekend, Friday, January 9 to Monday, January 12, for free or at low cost.

Live from 54 Below: Ann Hampton Callaway: Here's to Life

Live-streaming on Friday, January 9 at 7 p.m. ET for $29.

Tony-nominated jazz singer Ann Hampton Callaway (Swing!, the theme from The Nanny) performs uplifting songs as a New Year's gift to her fans! Enjoy standards by Harold Arlen, Cole Porter and Richard Rodgers along with original tunes and special guest duets with her sister, Tony nominee Liz Callaway. Live-streaming from 54 Below's swanky stage. If you prefer to attend in person, click here for info.

Prototype: Precipice

Live-streaming on Saturday, January 10 at 2 p.m. ET starting at $15.

Every January, the Prototype festival presents innovative operas, none of which you'd catch at the Met. One of this year's offerings, Precipice, is live-streaming its Saturday matinee at La MaMa to at-home audiences. A compelling tale of a young woman trying to make her way in America's mountain west, the opera features a score that fuses folk, art songs and nature sounds. If you prefer to attend in person, click here for info.

Live From 54 Below: Adam Pascal & Anthony Rapp: Celebrating Friendship and History

Live-streaming Monday, January 12 at 7 p.m. ET for $29.

I'm cheating with this one since it's on Monday, not the weekend. But this is a fabulous opportunity to see original Rent stars Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp spotlight their three-decade friendship in this evening of songs and backstage stories. While there will be many numbers from the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical that made them famous, they will also delve into their respective Broadway careers (Aida, Something Rotten!, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown and If/Then, to name just some of their credits). Live-streaming from 54 Below's swanky stage. If you prefer to attend in person, click here for info.

PBS Great Performances: The Magic of Spirituals

Streaming on PBS's website until Saturday, January 31 for FREE.

Jessye Norman and Kathleen Battle's 1990 Carnegie Hall concert is legendary... but what was going on behind the scenes? This documentary features footage from that famed evening along with interviews and reminiscences from those who were there as well as artists impacted by that landmark evening, including producer Peter Gelb, soprano Angel Blue, Harlem Gospel Singers' founder Queen Esther Marrow and diva Jocelyn B. Smith.

PBS Great Performances: Land of Gold

Streaming until Sunday, February 1 for FREE.

John Adams and Peter Sellars' Girls of the Golden West was an acclaimed hit for San Francisco Opera in 2017. This 75-minute documentary explores the making of this work about the challenges women faced during the 19th-century gold rush, inspired by the letters of Louise Clappe. Soprano Julia Bullock, mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges and others involved in the production shed light on the opera's history and artistry.
