Find a good husband.
Take care of him when he comes home from a hard day at work.
Be a good wife, a good mother, a good housekeeper.
Be obedient.
Be generous.
Be clean in public and dirty in bed.
Definitely do not be yourself.
In 1928, Ruth Snyder was executed for the murder of her husband. That same year, Sophie Treadwell wrote a play inspired by Snyder’s story. Now, Steph Del Rosso has crafted a relentless, raucous exploration of feminism - part rock concert, part performance art -- inspired by Treadwell’s expressionist masterpiece.
