American Morning is an original musical that examines the modern-day immigrant experience from the point of view of two Chinese immigrant cab drivers in New York City:

Chin and Eng share a taxi medallion, a homeland, and the American Dream. While Eng slowly climbs the ladder of success by day, Chin falls short by night, and their partnership spirals towards a single, desperate act. When so much ties the two together, what drives them apart? Based on a true incident, Prospect Theater Company presents this Richard Rodgers Award-winning musical for the first time in a staged workshop production.

"A powerful story, complex characters and a biting critique of the American immigrant experience today, all wrapped up in a suspenseful murder mystery."  ~ David Henry Hwang
