Keen Company, in a new collaboration with the Drama League, will bring DirectorFest to the Off Broadway stage. Featuring Drama League Directing Fellows, DirectorFest showcases rising talent in the industry through an evening of classic theater. See each director’s unique creativity and perspective, and experience a first look at the future of the field.
Nadia Guevara will direct Cell by Cassandra Medley, which follows 3 women working at an immigrant detention center and “deftly explores the dirty antidemocratic secret of institutionalized racism” (New York Times). Ibi Owolabi will direct Poof! by Lynn Nottage, which finds one woman grappling with what to do just moments after her abusive husband spontaneously combusts.
