Strauss’s An Alpine Symphony is an orchestral extravaganza requiring an enormous cast of 125 musicians, many playing on wind and thunder machines, cow bells, and bird calls, plus 16 off-stage brass players!

Join the composer on his daylong hike and see if you can keep track of all the episodes as he depicts a brilliant sunrise, the arduous ascent, an Alpine pasture, and a ferocious storm.

Plus Berio’s Sinfonia with Grammy-winning vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth.
