The summer concludes with a festive program embracing wit, humor, and unbridled joy. Shostakovich’s light-hearted Second Piano Concerto, filled with rollicking rhythms and an unabashed enthusiasm for the instrument, is the perfect vehicle for “master of momentum and color” Steven Osborne (Washington Post).

Under Langrée’s playful baton comes Schnittke’Moz-Art à la Haydn, a collage of notes by Mozart and Haydn involving dueling soloists and a roving orchestra. Mozart’s delightful “Haffner” Symphony completes the evening.
