MONUMENT combines beautifully revived works by legends of modern dance with original choreography by Hudson-based dance artist Adam H. Weinert.
With ingenuity, reverence, and grace, Weinert and an ensemble of stellar dancers perform classic solos by Doris Humphrey, José Limón and Jacob’s Pillow founder Ted Shawn before transporting audiences to a new world that is “Impressive, strange, a puzzle you want to solve, a social order changing before your eyes” (The New York Times).
For these performances, Chris Garneau returns to Hudson to perform live. Set to perfectly paced piano-led compositions, Garneau’s “dangerously beautiful voice” (The New Yorker), recalls the likes of Nina Simone, the Cocteau Twins and Elliott Smith in equal measure.
