Five brassy horns and two eccentric scientists leapfrog from epiphany to epiphany. Fusiform Gyrus celebrates the resilience of friendship, the power of music to make us feel like anything can happen, and the rigorous tradition of scientific discovery in a world where scientific truth is often challenged.
The play was inspired in part by the relationship and “intellectual romance” between two Israeli psychologists, Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky (though the play isn't biographical in any way). The characters in Ellen’s play are instead scientists, and she’s most interested in exploring their “intellectual romance” and the way they inspired each other
