This show is a funeral for my pre-transition self. For real. It’s probably one of the funnier funerals you will ever attend. Come mourn and celebrate with me the life I used to have.

When certain people in my life found out about my transition, they started talking about my old self as though “he” was a different person from me and as though “he” had died. I found this alienating, pretty irrelevant to my own experience and, frankly, annoying. And I also saw the theatrical appeal and decided to take the metaphor of transition of death and rebirth seriously. Where I ended up was not at all what I expected.

Audience Advisory: Content Warning: Startlingly attractive lead actor & thematic content around death
